Hi Folks-
I specialize in historically inspired American stoneware. One area of specialty includes slip-decorated vessels from Edgefield, SC from the 19th century. I have expanded the traditional decorations to include more complex painted designs and scenes.
I enjoy making really large vessels - the largest so far has a capacity of 25 gallons.
I make my own glazes, mostly traditonal alkaine glazes and fire my ware in either my gas or wood fired kiln.
Lately, I've been adding some very unique sculpture to my large vessels. You'll be amazed with the variety of subject matter.
Here is a show of my current work.
I recently made several pots honoring President Barack Obama.
Also, I have had the honor of being showcased in Early American Life, a magazine that has been the source for information on American style, decorating, and traditions since 1970
.
I'm excited by the shows I've got coming up. Check out the events page. I hope you enjoy looking at my art. If you have any questions about my work or need prices, please contact me.
Kindly-
